Wow!!! Just Wow, check out Sheila and her amazing story

After the deaths of my 15 year old, my husband, my only sister and 2 more loves of my life…..It was more than my mind, heart and soul could handle. I was an emotional, physical and mental mess…….and I ate to try and fill the void.

It was about this time last year that my twin daughters took me to Cancun for Mother’s day. I was a complete mess. They had wheelchairs waiting for me at the airports. I couldn’t walk very far at all and breathing was very hard. When I would go and see the girls, I would wake up with one of them standing over me checking to see if I was breathing. I knew I had to do something. I kept seeing my friends having great results with Skinny Fiber. I have been overweight my entire life and was very skeptical about another product. But, I knew I was just waiting to die or I could give it a shot. I figured every product deserves more than a month so I ordered the buy 2 and get 1 free. This is me after being on Skinny Fiber for about 6 months. I am off of 3 medications and down on the dosage on 2 others. My doctors are amazed at how good my blood results are now.
Please don’t be like me and keep waiting. Just do it and you will be glad you did. This is the only product I would ever endorse. I see the results that it can help you with. I became a distributor so I could literally help people that have struggled like I have. Please message me if you have any questions. You can go to my link and order yours today

Macadamia Nuts…YUM

10155696_10201982916593803_7790803072560005972_n

Macadamia nuts are rich, flavorful nuts native to the continent of Australia, although they are also cultivated in Hawaii.

The nuts grow in extremely hard kernels which are very difficult to crack open. This is one of the reasons why macadamia nuts are so costly, since they are challenging to shell. Once cracked, the shell reveals an ivory colored kernel which is rich in oil with a buttery, creamy flavor. The nuts may be eaten out of hand, roasted, or ground into nut butter. Many people pair macadamia nuts with white chocolate in confections, and they can also be found in nut mixes and other desserts.

Because macadamia nuts are so high in fat, you should refrigerate them for the longest shelf life. If kept at room temperature, the nuts may go rancid. Try to use macadamia nuts quickly in either case, as they generally taste better fresh.
Toasting also highlights their flavor; to toast macadamia nuts, either roast them in a heavy pan or bake them, turning them occasionally until they turn golden brown.

Fats: Macadamia nuts comprise 84% monounsaturated, 3.5% polyunsaturated and 12.5% saturated fatty acids. Being low in cholesterol and high in monounsaturated fatty acids which are “good” fats, macadamia nuts help in the body’s manufacture of essential fatty acids by maintaining the balance between omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids as well as increase the production of protective high density lipoproteins while suppressing the unhealthy low density lipoproteins. Hence, one of the most important macadamia nut health benefits is that being low in saturated fats and cholesterol, these nuts reduce the risks of heart diseases, stroke, anti-inflammatory diseases, anti-aggregatory diseases and immunomodulating diseases.

Protein: Macadamia nuts are rich in essential and non essential amino acids which play an important role in the body’s muscle formation, connective tissues and blood plasma development and overall well-being.

Carbohydrates: These nutritional nuts are a good source of sugars, sucrose, fructose, glucose and maltose, and some other starch-based material.

Minerals and Vitamins: Macadamia nuts are loaded with vitamins like vitamin E, thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin, pantothenic acid (B5) and folate, and minerals such as potassium, phosphorus, magnesium and calcium. Hence, the nuts promote healthy bone and teeth formation, as well regulate the body’s fluid balance and immune system. Also they enhance our nervous system and promotes healthy skin and hair.

Dietary Fiber: Dietary fibers are nothing but roughage or complex carbohydrates that give a feeling of fullness and reduce appetite. Hence, macadamia nuts are rich in complex carbohydrates like lignans, hemicellulose, amylopectins, mucilage, gums and insoluble cellulose which promote desirable intestinal bacteria, slow digestion, and reduce constipation, hunger pangs, irritable bowel syndrome and other digestive problems.

Phytonutrients: Macadamia nuts are good source of phytonutrients or phytochemicals like tocopherols and tocotrienols, (derivatives of Vitamin E), the biologically active components in the body that help remove free radicals which oxidize blood fats and damage healthy cells. Hence, their antioxidant properties reduce the possibilities of certain types of cancer like breast, cervical, gastrointestinal, lung, stomach and prostate cancer.

Moreover, regular intake of the macadamia nuts serves in the growth of new tissues, slow down the aging process and denigrates birth defects.

Macadamia Nuts Side Effects
Macadamia nuts are safe as food, and they seem to be safe as medicine for most people. They can cause an allergy, but this is rare. Health care providers sometimes recommend macadamia nuts to promote digestion and relieve constipation, but eating too many of them may lead to constipation or diarrhea in some people.

In a preliminary study in which volunteers ate a diet containing large quantities of ground macadamia nuts for one month, researchers saw no negative side effects, and these results were similar to findings from an earlier study in which volunteers ate a diet containing large quantities of ground macadamia nuts for one month. Despite an increase in the proportion of fat in their diets, volunteers showed no significant change in weight or cholesterol levels. No negative side effects from eating the macadamia nuts were observed.

Adapt & Overcome

Well I’ve been blogging about a week now, and still getting used to all the settings, have yet to figure out how to “Share” post’s once they hit Facebook, there is an option to do so  but it pops up with an error when I try to share it…I will keep playing with settings till I master this problem, lol. It’s a little crazy trying to juggle watching and attending to G-babies and trying to do my business online but this to will settle into a routine I’m sure. I am really enjoying all this New Tech stuff my mind is absorbing, who would have thought a 51 year old G-ma could conquer the Tech world…I recently had a Birthday with family and friends and had a great time, all were present and then some, I’m blessed to have so many who love and care about me. Once I get settled into all the technical stuff and everything is running smoothly, I’ll be starting to get back into my crafting and share some of those things with you, my Fabulous Followers and perhaps you’ll give me some feedback to help me along. For now I’ll bid you ado and continue my struggles with troubleshooting all these tech options till I conquer my issue… Love & Hugs Cindie

12 REASONS TO LOVE LAVENDER OIL

1606947_10204049379742960_7918856917653304398_n

Who knew all these great tips?

1- Potpourri
Add a few drops of oil to your potpourri, dry or silk flowers (NOT on wood furniture!!)

2- Bath
For aching muscles or stress relief, add 4 drops of oil to your bath. You can also add a handful of Epsom salts.
Sit back, relax and soak away your tensions!!

3- Cuts/ Scrapes
Spray on lightly some Lavender oil on the affected area. It’s a great disinfectant that will not “kill” the “good bacteria”
on the skin!!

4- Fatigue
Add 5-8 drops of oil in a hot foot bath to soak your feet (which are particularly porous, so it reaches your bloodstream
quickly, soothing various systems of your body!!)

5- Insomnia
A few drops or a light “squirt” on your pillow case for a sweet sleep! (I’ve personally done this too, by adding a little
pouch of lavender “buds” inside my pillow case…works great!!) For babies, add 3 drops of lavender oil in their bedtime
bath water.

6- Disinfectant
To sterilize household surfaces, add 10 drops of lavender oil to a small squirt bottle (can be found at the Dollar Store).
Spray on surface, wait 30 minutes. Not necessary to wipe off. (NOTE: NOT to be used on wood furniture or wood surfaces to
be safe!) You can use it to disinfect toilets, sink handles, telephone receivers, light switches, etc…

7- Burns
After cooling the burn under cold, running water for approx. 5-10 mins (or more), gently apply oil to affected area.
This should help lessen the pain immediately.

8- Headache
Massage a few drops of lavender oil into your forehead, your temples, nape of neck, and the inside of your wrists.

9- Acne
Apply 1 drop of oil on the affected area (pimple) inhibits the bacteria that causes the infection & helps rebalance the over secretion of sebum.

10- Insect Bites
Applying 1 drop of lavender oil on an insect bite will soothe itching and inflammation. Dab on as soon as possible.

11- Moths
Hang little fabric bags or pouches (can be found at the Dollar Store, if you cannot find a substitute at home) amongst your woolens in your closet, and refresh with oil from time to time. It’s a deterrent, but not a guarantee!

12- Fungus
T.V.’s Dr Oz says that lavender oil (3 drops), when rubbed into the finger or toe nail (several times a day) has anti-fungal properties! (Re-apply after washing your hands or bathing)
NOTE: Store your oil AWAY from heat & light to preserve its properties.

What is Skinny Fiber

Skinny Fiber is unlike any weight loss supplement out there because not only is it all-natural and stimulant free, you will you lose weight and reap the benefits of becoming healthier!!               –> Video

What is Skinny Fiber?
This is EVERYTHING you could possibly want to know about Skinny Fiber.
Imagine if you could swallow a sponge, and then drink water and that sponge swell up and make you feel full..and then that sponge could capture 30-40% of everything you digest…imagine the most powerful digestive enzymes that do nothing but attack your number one store area for fat and break it down, so now you are eating less, and what you are eating almost half is being absorbed so your body can not access it, and on top of that the enzymes are literally attacking your fat stores….that is skinny fiber…it’s a no fail kind of diet

Skinny Fiber is a pure, all natural nutritional weight loss supplement that comes in the form of a capsule. It is a super detox on a cellular level! It has no nasty side effects, unlike other dietary supplements that make your heart pound and make you feel jittery.

What is in Skinny Fiber?

It contains 3 main plant ingredients:

Glucomannan- a unique all natural soluble dietary fiber that expands 50 times its size in your stomach helping you overcome the #1 enemy of weight management … overeating. In addition to the amazing support for your weight loss goals, on its way through the body, glucomannan supports the colon, thereby supporting the digestive system.*

Caralluma- a plant, in the cactus family, that has been used as a natural appetite suppressant and thirst quencher in India for centuries, particularly in times of famine.* Caralluma fimbriata is also believed to help support weight management.* It is believed to block certain enzymes that form fat in the body.

Chá de Bugre- a small tree found in Brazil- very successful in suppressing the appetite and believed to fight cellulite. Can be roasted and made into a coffee substitute and is a good heart tonic that stimulates circulation. It’s also used in Brazil and Haiti as a tea to help relieve cough, regulate renal function, reduce uric acid, and externally to heal wounds.

As well as 7 digestive enzymes and antioxidants:

Beyond supporting digestion, certain Digestive Enzymes can play a major role in weight management.*Enzymes are responsible for every single chemical reaction in every single cell of your body. The enzymes found naturally in raw foods are very sensitive to heat (cooking) and most processed foods are completely void of the enzymes your body desperately needs to properly digest your meal. If you cannot get enough nutrition from the food you take in, your body just wants more.

Amylase- an enzyme that helps digest carbohydrates. Breaks down starch and turns them into a natural sugar which gives the body energy. Also found in the pancreas and the glands that make saliva.

Protease- a digestive enzyme needed to digest protein. It liberates amino acids needed by the body. Used as therapy for benefits in oncology, inflammatory conditions, blood rheology control, and immune regulation.

Lipase- a digestive enzyme needed to digest a healthy amount of fat our bodies need. It hydrolyzes lipids, the ester bonds in triglycerides, to form fatty acids and glycerol. Dissolves fat throughout the body, improves metabolism, and aids in overall detoxification process.

Glucoamylase- also turns starch into sugar for easy digestion

Papain- a protease enzyme found in the papaya plant and is used to treat gastrointestinal problems such as stomach ulcers and indigestion. Breaks down heavy proteins to make them easy to digest and absorb into the body and works well against Celiac disease, shingles, and herpes. It also shortens the healing time of some injuries and surgery.

Cellulase- sustains blood sugar, maintains good level of cholesterol, supports cell membranes to keep them healthy from free radicals, toxic chemicals, and breaks down biofilm to help detoxify the intestinal tract as well as major organs.

Bromelain- enzymes found in pineapples, used for digestive support. It treats inflammation following surgery primarily of the ear, nose, and throat as well as other infections and injuries. Aids heartburn when used with amylase and lipase and reduces diarrhea.

Each bottle has 120 capsules in it. If you take 2 capsules before your two largest meals of the day, it works out to roughly $2.00/day…

Watermelon Seeds, Did YOU know?

Watermelon Seeds

 WATERMELON SEEDS

Who would of thought that watermelon seeds had so many great health benefits. They are packed with nutrients that are very different from benefits of watermelon sweet, juicy pulp. Before you spit out those seeds think about what they could do for your health.

Sun dried watermelon seeds are very popular. They contain iron, potassium, vitamins, fats and calories which is important for everyday nutrition. Watermelon seeds should be chewed before swallowing if its nutritional content is desired.

Watermelon seeds can also contribute to a healthy diet. Like many other seeds and nuts, watermelon seeds provide a source of healthy unsaturated fat. The seeds’ main benefits, though, come from their mineral content. Consume roasted watermelon seeds as a source of essential minerals to help maintain healthy tissue and prevent disease.

IRON
Roasted watermelon seeds come packed with iron. Just an ounce of seeds contains approximately 2 milligrams of iron — 25 percent of the recommended daily iron intake for men and 11 percent of the RDA for women, according to the NYU Langone Medical Center. Iron helps you make hemoglobin and myoglobin, proteins that help transport and store oxygen in your tissues. Iron also promotes liver function and nourishes your immune system.
MAGNESIUM
Roasted watermelon seeds provide a source of magnesium. Magnesium supports your metabolism so that your cells can produce the energy they need for day-to-day functioning. It also helps your body store energy by helping you make lipids, aids in cell migration and plays a role in cell communication. Each ounce of roasted watermelon seeds provides you with 146 milligrams of magnesium — 35 percent of the RDA for men and 46 percent for women, according to the Linus Pauling Institute.
COPPER
Roasted watermelon seeds nourish your hair and skin because of their copper content. You need copper to produce melanin — the pigment that gives your skin and hair their color, and also helps protect you from the sun’s harmful rays. It keeps your connective tissue strong and resistant to damage and promotes healthy nervous system function. Watermelon seeds’ copper content also plays a role in iron transport, so it can be used to make hemoglobin. An ounce of roasted watermelon seeds boosts your copper intake by 192 micrograms and provides 21 percent of the RDA, according to the Linus Pauling Institute.

SERVING TIPS and IDEAS
Try making seasoned roasted seeds at home — a sprinkle of cinnamon or a mix of lime juice and chili powder are two flavorful options. Add some crunch to your salad with a handful of seeds, or use roasted watermelon seeds along with dried fruit in home-made trail mix. If you opt for pre-roasted watermelon seeds, make sure to check the nutrition label before you buy — seeds roasted in oil and seasoned with salt might come loaded with unwanted fat and sodium. Eat your roasted watermelon seeds in the same meal as fruits and vegetables, since vitamin C — a nutrient found in many fruits and veggies — helps your body better absorb the iron in the seeds. Citrus fruits, red peppers, raspberries and strawberries all provide considerable amounts of vitamin C to boost iron absorption.

NUTRITIONAL VALUE of Watermelon seeds
Watermelon seeds are packed with nutrients including fatty acids, essential proteins and lots of minerals. Around 100 gram of watermelon seeds provide around 600 calories same as having 10 loaves of bread. Around 400 calories come from fats in watermelon seeds. Fat content in 100 gram of watermelon seeds is around 80% of daily dietary requirement of fats. Around one third of watermelon seeds is proteins, mainly highly essential proteins like lysine.
MINERAL AND VITAMINS
Watermelon seeds are good source of vitamin B like Thiamin, niacin, folate. Watermelon seeds are rich in minerals like magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, Zinc, Iron, potassium and Copper. 100 grams of watermelon seeds provides around 139%, 87%, 82%, 74%, 44%, 20% and 37% of daily dietary values of these minerals respectively. Watermelon seeds are also good source of dietary fibers which are essential for healthy bowel movements and digestion.

Eating Watermelon Seeds and Uses of watermelon seeds

Globally watermelon is widely consumed, but in most places watermelon seeds are discarded. In Asian and Middle Eastern countries, watermelon seeds are collected, dried and roasted for eating. Watermelon seeds are also used in making soups or other beneficial products like watermelon seed oil, watermelon seed tea and watermelon seed extract are made.

Cooking Watermelon Seeds: We all read how nutritious watermelon seeds are. We can just roast them and eat them as snack. These roasted watermelon seeds can also be used to garnish salads. Oil obtained from watermelon seed is used as moisturizer for skin. Watermelon seed oil finds its place in some of skin care products and cosmetics. Sometimes watermelon seed extract is used instead. Watermelon seed extract is considered as home remedy for stomach and urinary tract related disorders.

Tea from ground watermelon seed is also consumed in some parts of glob. It is because of health benefits of watermelon seed tea, it is considered to improve health of kidney. Research is ongoing to confirm this health benefit of watermelon seed tea.

How to make roasted watermelon seeds

Collecting watermelon seed from watermelon we eat is first process. Dark colored watermelon seeds should be preferred. These collected seeds shall be washed well, removing any pulpy matter. These washed seeds should be dried. You can dry them under sun if you want. These dried seeds should be fried with some oil. Keep stirring the seeds till they look completely roasted. Add some salted water to this pan, and keep heating the seeds till the water is evaporated and seeds are completely dried. Avoid overheating the seeds as you do not want the nutrients especially vitamins to be removed and enjoy completely the health benefits of watermelon seeds. These salted, tasty watermelon seeds can be stored and enjoyed as munching snack. Roasted and salted watermelon seeds remains as one of the traditional Egyptian snacks. These seeds can also be ground into cereal and used to make bread or used in stews and soups.
Health benefits of Watermelon seeds

Essential Amino Acids – Amongst all the amino acids body requires, there are some known as essential amino acids which body cannot produce. These include arginine, lysine and others. Watermelon seeds supply some of these essential amino acids including tryptophan, glutamic acids. Lysine plays important role in calcium absorption and formation of collagen and connective tissues in body. Arginine helps in improvement of body metabolism, cardio vascular system and sexual health.

Watermelon seeds are rich in magnesium and 100 grams of watermelon seeds provide around 139% of daily dietary requirement of magnesium. Magnesium is responsible for normal heart functioning, promoting normal blood pressure, supporting energy metabolism and protein synthesis. It has beneficial effect in treating cardiovascular diseases, hypertension. Magnesium regulates carbohydrate metabolism and thereby checks blood sugar and controls diabetes.

Watermelon seeds are equivalent to multivitamin B complex supplements we consume. Some of the vitamin B present in watermelon seeds include niacin, folate, thiamine, riboflavin, vitamin B6, panthothenic acid. About 100 gm of watermelon seed provide 19% daily value of niacin, which is essential in maintaining the nervous system, digestive system and skin health.

Water melon seed is considered demulcent. Lipids in watermelon seed helps form protective layer mucus membrane and thus reduces inflammation. Consumption of watermelon and watermelon seeds is believed to increase sperm production and sustain erection. Often touted as Red Viagra.

Skin Benefits of Watermelon Seeds
There are two ways in which watermelon seed can be beneficial for your skin. Either you consume watermelon seed and seek healthy skin. Alternately you may use watermelon seed externally and enjoy benefits for your skin.
Watermelon seed are rich in Vitamin B3 or niacin which increases production of ceramides and fatty acids responsible for protection of skin. Study shows that topical use of niacinamide (vitamin B3) provided improvements and prevention of aging facial skin. It reduced fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots, red blotchiness and skin sallowness. It made skin more elastic.

Watermelon seed is also high on magnesium which helps prevent skin infections like cold sores and rashes. Zinc is another mineral found in watermelon seeds which plays vital role in cell growth and regeneration. Skin cells are in constant process of generation and regeneration. Zinc helps keep skin cells healthy. Zinc also controls production of oil in skin and thus useful for acne and other skin disorders.

A healthy skin is often correlated with healthy bowels. Ever noticed you suffered from constipation or had bloated stomach and you had acnes on skin. Skin acts as an excretory organ, and excretes harmful toxins from body. In case of bad stomach, skin assists in removal of toxins which often blocks in skin pores and results acne or boils. Dietary fibers in watermelon seed helps bowel movements and thus keeps skin healthy.
Watermelon oil contains essential fatty acids helpful for skin, it eliminates any toxins from skin, helps keep skin fresh and elastic. Watermelon seed Oil is obtained from crushing dried watermelon seeds. It is used in hair care products as non greasy high moisturizer. Watermelon seed oil has amazing moisturizing capabilities and forms essential ingredient in baby oils.

Kalahari Melon Oil is basically water melon seed oil which has properties of hydrating skins. Traditionally watermelon seeds were chewed and moistened with saliva and rubbed over body skin. It was believed to keep skin smooth and glowing. Most of the skin care formulations today use watermelon seed oil for its benefits to skin.

The Question is…WATER vs COKE?

984030_288236608007027_2121798144726554900_n

WATER VS. COKE
Very interesting indeed! Water or Coke? We all know that water is important but I’ve never seen it written down like this before.
WATER
1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.
3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one’s metabolism as much as 30%.
4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.
5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.
And now for the properties of COKE
1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.
3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the “real thing” sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.
4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.
8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.
For Your Info
1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.
2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for Highly corrosive materials.
3. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!
Now the question is, would you like a glass of water or coke?

Self Bio of Myself thus Far in 50 years in this World…an ongoing Saga… (Some things are a little detailed as I share my true self)

Image

I was Born in Texas in the year of 1963, My Father was in the Army and My Mother a Nurse.

My little brother passed away due to SIDS when I was 3, I was the one that found him in his crib, I went to see if he was awake for our Saturday morning ritual of watching cartoons…This was my First memory of my life, telling my Mother that Leon wouldn’t wake up and watching the ambulance as it Drove away…

My next Memory was of a Funeral Home, I’m not sure if it was for my brother or my Grandfather who passed the same year, I only know I was a sad little girl…

I can remember hugging a Collie in a neighbors yard by my grandmothers house around the same time and it bit me on my face, right below my left eye with upper teeth and under my chin with lower jaw, I still carry the scars today, I was so lucky not to have lost my eye…and time crept by

I guess about the same time I started school my Brother Ray was born (1969) I don’t remember his birth…But my next memory is one of skipping school with my friend Mary I think I was around 9-10 and getting caught and my Mother letting the Principal whoop me, as my Father was overseas on Duty and walking back into class as everyone stared at me…I was certain they all knew what just happened…

I was 10-11 when Mary and I where playing in my Fathers Study and we decided it would be fun to play with his guns, I took down some of them from the upper cabinets (I was straddled between the Desk and shelf) and when I pulled down the 22 Rifle I pointed it at Mary and pulled the trigger…Nothing happened, we played for awhile, I was told by my Mother that Mary’s Mom was supposed to be watching us as my Little Brother Ray was there as well, riding his trike around the house. I guess we decided to put the guns away as I remember being in the same position as I was when I took them down. As I was handed the guns by Mary to put them back, she got to the 22 Rifle and before she handed it to me she cocked it and pointed it at me and pulled the trigger as she said “My Turn!”  Well as you can guess I was surprised to feel a jerk to my side as I fell from my stance…Mary screamed and ran out the front door, I went to the bathroom and got a towel, but there was very little blood, I remember not freaking out not crying…I just called my mom and told her she needed to come home because something happened. When she got there she was a little frantic, she had a friend (Howard) with her (he will play a part in the future) who carried me to the car and we went to the Army Hospital (we Lived on Base). they took ex-rays and said I was very lucky as it went straight through me and missed my lung by less than an inch…Mary came to see me and I received numerous apologies and a Chrissy Doll (you remember those dolls that had the hair that grew out of there heads by pushing a button on their belly and you could make it shorter by turning a knob on their back). I later in life found out that the Rifle was loaded because my Father had intentions of shooting my Mother (he had PTSD from Nam) that knowledge triggered the next memory….

I can remember sitting in the living room of our Army house and watching my Father sitting on my Mother and plummeting her face and body as my Brother and I played with the puppies we had and watched not realizing it was not them playing…I guess he did this more often than we were privy to. I also remember my Father and his friend and I riding around in a car with a Woman, they would take turns being in the backseat with her and I was told sternly NOT to look behind me as I rode in the passenger seat, occasionally she would make a sound and I’d try to look but was told NOT to once again…I don’t remember my age at that time. My Parents had a friend (could be the same one, I don’t know) who took me to the store and bought me the Entire Barbie Display they had, must have been 14 or so barbies altogether, not sure why I remember that…But I do.

I think I was around 12 when I went to visit my Father (my parents had split up) we were at his Mother’s house. I Loved being there and seeing my Mamaw and Aunt Brenda and all my cousins who lived down the street, I remember on that visit that my Uncle bribed me with a soda if I would lay on the bed with him, I was young and trusted him and was never told this wasn’t right by an adult…Luckily all he did was writhe and grind into me, but looking back as that memory hit me I often wonder how he thought that was ok to do, I think he was only 15-16 at the time, but that is no excuse…

My mother was seeing that friend (Howard) from before (the one that carried me to the car) he had 4 children and we used to go camping and have a great time, there were alot of things that transpired with my Parents and this friend and his wife before my Mother and he became an Item.

We lived in Las Cruces, NM as my next memory takes place on a street called Skyway, I was left alone allot in that house as my mother was with Howard who lived in town, I can remember being home alone one time when it was really late and dark and going across the street to a friends house and keeping a watch for my Mom out the window, for some reason that is a memory that hits me allot…I have a funny memory of a Christmas in that house, Ray decided to get up early Christmas morning and open ALL the presents under the tree, thinking they were all his. We were all at Howard’s apartment and I was coming back from the the store across the street and was running down the sidewalk and my arm got stuck and ripped open on the chain-link fence in front of his house, it ripped muscle and tissue and required 3 stitches, leaving a 1 inch scar…Eventually my Mother and Howard moved in together and we moved out to the country into a community called Hacienda acres, I got to ride the bus to school in town. We lived in a duplex and our neighbors had 2 girls with the prettiest Red hair, Renee and Rhonda, they introduced me to Horses and I instantly fell in Love with them. We would go to their stable and ride, that’s the best time I can remember in that house right next to the Woman that moved in when they moved out that taught me crafting, that was another passion I would come to Love later in life, she would take an Egg and blow out the yolk/whites and cut an opening in either 1 or both sides and cover in floss on the outside and glue and decorate them on the inside with miniatures. It was my first memory of creating something beautiful…

We soon moved up the road farther out of town to a New mobile Home community called Moongate…I had my first real boyfriend and we got Horses and I was in heaven…I loved living in that house, I think it was the Best part of my childhood when we lived there…I have so many great memories from that time of my life…Camping and a big family though they didn’t all live with us, Howard’s children visited often and his daughter moved in eventually. I made best friends and had bullies (I’ll go into that in a bit), went to gymkhanas and won many trophies and Ribbons, Learned to ride motorcycles, taught Ray as well, we ran in a pack of 8 and would go on midnight rides on our horses, those of us that had motorcycles would go riding around the ravens (sandy, dry, wash-ways in the desert), I started babysitting…It was great, But even great memories are tarnished a little by a bad one from time to time, mine was…My Brother and I went to visit my Father in Utah as that was where he was stationed, on Dugway Military Base. For the most part it was a great time but once during a Christmas at his Wife’s parents house, my Father decided it was time for me to have my fist drink (mind you I was 14 ish) Seven & Seven was what he called it, wouldn’t let me stop till I was puking (not a pleasant experience I’ll have you know) but I survived and without a hangover can you believe it? One of  the 2 incidents that I remember there, happened right before I decided to return to my Mother (as I had decided to stay and go to school there). We, my Father his friend my Brother and I went up to the mountains which were a few miles away, to play in the snow in the bronco my Father owned, and they got it stuck…Well my Father decides to send myself and Ray down the mountain to find help, we walked on the side of the road for I don’t know how long and finally came to friends house whose horse I had been training and told him the story and so he calls my House to see if my step mom was there…Yes and so was my Father? WTH? he had to pass right by us to get home, why would he do that? I still don’t know to this day why…the second was when he took my Brother and I Hunting, gave us both weapons and left us on our own for 1-2 hours in the middle of nowhere, he came back but I’m not sure of his intentions when he left us there, again I to this day don’t know the motive. I soon after decided it was time for me to go home, as it was our choice to stay it was ours to leave, my Brother stayed (but should have come home with me as he has his own story to tell form his stay there, I’ll let him tell it). When I returned to my Mother and Howard, his Daughter who had been living there, had met a boy and decided to get married and moved to Albuquerque and we went to visit her, we had a great time seeing her town and new apartment, they had gotten a 2 bedroom one as they were either thinking of having a baby or she was already pregnant, I’m not sure which…any way we had to sleep on the floor of their spare room as they had no furniture. All was great, My mother lay against the wall, my step-father (whom now had adopted me and I changed my last name to his) was in the middle and then me, sleep was good…until I woke up, I could feel a hand down my underwear and touching me where it shouldn’t be, I lay as still as possible hoping not to let him know that I was awake, I didn’t really know what to do I was in SHOCK…I prayed that I was dreaming and hoped I was imagining it, but I wasn’t, he finally pulled away and I lay there a bit more and then got up and went to the kitchen still not sure exactly what had just happened. Howard came out and asked me if I was ok and I told him I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t let on that I knew what he did, I didn’t know what he would do, up until that happened I never feared or was uneasy with him…The next morning he was sitting at the kitchen table and we were all getting ready to go out and he said “come sit on my lap” well guess what I DIDN’T do. I didn’t tell my Mother till a few years later. And I slept on the couch the next night. When we returned to home, I kept my distance and started having trouble at school with a bully and decided to skip school to prevent an ass whoopin’…My Mother and her friend were planning a trip to Sante Fe on the weekend and I was getting to go~until I skipped school…I begged my mother to let me go, I was in tears begging, I wrote a note and left it on my door for her to find the next morning begging her still, the last thing I wanted was to be left alone with Howard, but she left me there, she didn’t know my worry and stress as I had not told her yet. But I do not remember that weekend, I don’t know if I blocked it out or what but I just do not remember.

My bully situation stopped and life went on, my Horses were my release as much as possible I was on them and gone. Howard stopped paying attention to me in that way and things got back to normal, He bought me a Honda 400XS and I found an additional release to be gone, though I used to ride the 5 miles to the highway and meet him when he got off work it was not like he could touch me while riding. He soon moved to California for a New Job. Mom and I stayed in New Mexico for awhile, I was in Heaven again, we went roller skating all the time we had great fun just the 2 of us and my friends, But soon that would stop as we were selling just about everything and moving to California too…We sold all the cars, all the Horses and my heaven was done. I had left school 3 months early assuring my Mom I would start again in California and off we went to our next chapter of my life…

It first started soon after we arrived there, we were living in an apartment type complex, and I was back in school and things were going good, Made a few friends, bonded with a few relatives. All was good, but something and I don’t know what, but something triggered me into depression and I started not wanting to go to school, and one day I found out a cousin (by marriage) was in an accident and I had become really close with him since moving and I didn’t want to go to school and blamed it on the fact that I was upset about his accident (he was fine, just bruised up a bit)…and my Mom called to check on me and I BROKE, I spilled everything that I had kept to myself for so long about Howard and she was in disbelief, I don’t think she believed me at all, I don’t know if it was because I waited so long or Denial, I still don’t know, but he denied it any way so it really didn’t matter what I had to say so I continued on with my life and tried to forget the whole thing, we moved to a house in Poway and started bowling and I remember the day we all went to the Bowling Alley on Motorcycles and I lay mine over at a stop light. It got sold soon after that because I was afraid to ride it anymore. But I moved on yet again, we continued Bowling. Team Bowling was my favorite, My Mom and Howard were I guess experimenting with Sex, I’m not really sure what was going on, but we started watching pornos in our house and Howard would pull me next to him and put his arm around my shoulder and run his thumb up and down the side of my boob, again I endured it and my Mother was oblivious or in Denial…My mother and I had driven to see her Mom and now she was going to go again but this time I wasn’t going with her, much to my dismay, Howard told me I could sleep with him if I wanted to, he said we didn’t have to do anything, but that he would show me things that he and my Mother did and said that she especially liked a particular brush he would show me how she liked it…as you can guess I declined and pretty much stayed in my room the whole time she was gone it was not to long after my Mothers return (and no I didn’t tell her anything, why? She didn’t believe me the last time, what was the use?) that Howard touched me not in a sexual way just reached out to touch me and I broke his thumb, he really didn’t mess with me again for quite awhile. I dropped out of school, And then I met a Guy named David, and was instantly in Love, little did I know That wouldn’t last either, Probably because I was looking for an escape. But we were inseparable most of the time, Though I had lost my virginity when in New Mexico, with a boyfriend, David introduced me to Sex, the right way not Howard’s way…Soon I was pregnant with my Daughter, and again I was in Heaven, David and I broke up but got back together. We had moved to Imperial Beach by this time (my Mom and Howard and Ray and I), and She was born in July of 1983 and all was Great! Howard one night tried to pay David off to get out of my life…I’m surprised now that he didn’t take it, but the story of David continues, I moved in with him for awhile until he decided I was crimping his style after I told him I was pregnant again, at sometime in this time frame we had gone to the park with my family and (Howard and I walked to the store they had and stopped to feed the ducks on the way back and as I knelt beside the water he was beside me and reached over and put his hands up my shorts, I jumped up and ran back the party, I never spoke of it) I then moved back home with my daughter as I didn’t have a job or way to support her other than welfare. But David continued to come see me and finally we decided to get married before our son was born, I was really Happy at that point. We got an apartment in Poway and I should have realized the first night that we stayed in our New Home together, he decided to let me unpack and organize while he went out on the town…I started getting phone calls from girls, but I stuck it out I was in Love…Our Son was born in June of 1985 and I had another child to occupy my time, I was still not working so I was home all the time with babies to keep me busy…this continued for about 8 months and I went out for something and came home and found my Daughter with her mouth on a bong in my living room, I decided it was time for me to Leave and take my children with me…again I ran Home. We continued a Yo-Yo relationship even though I knew he wasn’t faithful and did drugs, I still Loved him and he was the Father of my Children.

My mother and Howard had begun Foster Parenting during this time and there were many girls that went thru their home, how many Howard messed with I don’t know, but one of them said something to someone or my Mom and I don’t remember what happened, but I remember she stayed with him…until she met the man I call my Dad and started having a fling with him, not long after she and Howard went there separate ways, I was THRILLED! I was always concerned for my daughter’s safety where he was concerned. They stayed in touch though I was to find out. Again time went by my Mom got married to Bill and I continued to live with them until I got My first apartment and started Drafting school, David was in and out of our lives and Howard as well, he was trying to get my mom to get me to let my daughter stay with him and his new wife, I refused whole Heartedly, she tried to convince me he wouldn’t let anything happen to her (but I knew) she still obviously either didn’t believe what he had done to me or just refused to accept it, but My Daughter would NOT be put to his reaches alone. I shattered my Elbow while at Drafting School and that put an end to my Drafting School…I was on Welfare and a stay at home mom for awhile then I started working at Yardage City (A Fabric Store) and my Crafting time begun, I was a sewing Freak, made my kids clothes and a bad decision at closing put an end to that Job, But I had met Jeffrie while working there and she had her own children’s clothing line and hired me to work out of my house doing embellishing work…thus I was still in my niche zone and got to spend my time with my children as they grew and even my Niece’s as Ray had gotten married and had children of his own by this time…Life was good again

Had a few boy friends David was less in my life and that was good my kids were growing up and I was getting older and smarter. I eventually had to move back in with my mom cause I had to start driving to work instead of working out of my house (which I still did to) My mom had split from Bill and was seeing Howard again, UGH. I Met a man named Ed and  was in Love again, he had 2 kids and we bowled  and things were good. Time went by. Mom got back with Bill and they Moved to Texas because of his Job and soon after Ray and his family did too, I remained in California for a couple years and then decided to move to Texas as well, My kids were already there as Ed and I were having problems and I didn’t want  my kids around the crap, but I soon joined them alone…But Stupid as I was I packed them up and we went back to Califirnia, to be with Ed. It was ok for awhile but I missed my Family, and we all Moved to Texas in 1995.

I started working at Garden Ridge (LOVE THAT PLACE) and Ed got a Job printing, we were staying with Dad & Mom for awhile then got a place of our own place, but that didn’t last, we had a difference of opinions and I had met someone (Phillip) at work, so we went our separate ways…

Fast Forward to 1998, I bought a house with Phillip, well not with him he just helped me to buy it, as we were no longer together. Kids went to school I went to work, life went on…I got a call one day while working that my Daughter had been shot and I made a 40 minute drive in 20 minutes, turns out that her and my son were in the back part of our Acre of land with one of his friends (they are all around 13-15 yrs old) and my son had shot a pellet gun towards his sister and it hit her in the eye, ricocheted off the back of her eye and embedded itself in the eyebrow bone, well my son couldn’t look at his sister for weeks, and they still don’t have a strong relationship to this day. But she had a displaced retina and had to have many surgeries and eventually lost all sight in her left eye and now has a Prosthetic eye, But she is still the most beautiful daughter a Mother could have, and I’m not being partial, LOL. I had another boyfriend but we will pass over him as he’s not important…I lost my house and changed Jobs, I was now working at Home Depot, where I met the man I now call Husband. My mother once told him you know she was never molested, it was her way of making up for not having her father while growing up, I guess she’s still in Denial. But I have overcome all that and have become the person I am today despite all that messed up past, my mom and dad live close, my Brother and his family a close as well, My kids are grown and have a child each of their own. I have been blessed throughout my life to have overcome the things I went thru and end up where I am today. A smarter, wiser more aware person, I now stand up for those without a voice and look out for those being taken advantage of, to the anger and dismay of many when I voice my strength for those without it to speak for themselves, I will do this till the day I die regardless of what others may say to or about me, for I care not what others opinions of me are, I am doing what I know in my Heart to be right and I speak Honestly always, Good or Bad, I tell it like it is which often make people call me names but I can live with that because I can peacefully sleep when I close my eyes at night.
